Shiva as Virabhadra slew Daksha for being responsible for Sati’s death and forgave him, resurrecting him. The entrance to the cave is around 50 feet in height. The clan with a sense of relief then branches out and spread across Sindh , Panjab , Rajasthan , Madhya Pradesh , and later on to South India, such as Maharashtra , Telangana , Andrapradesh and Karnataka. The trident or Trishul is the weapon of Lord Shiva and hence is associated with the Sati too. A small shapeless stone is worshiped as Hinglaj Mata.

At each of the Peeths, Bhairava a manifestation of Shiva accompanies the relics.
The daughter of Prajapati DakshaSati was married to the god Shiva against his wishes. The mantra or incantation for Devi Hinglaj is attributed to Saint Dadhichi, an important saint in Hindu theology. Lord Parashuram not only taught them scriptures and vedas, but also weaving for a living.
More than 40, people take part in the Hinglaj Yathra during the spring. The activity is considered to be very holy. There is a low mud altar.

This page was last edited on 1 Aprilat An important stop during the pilgrimage is the mud volcano called ‘Chandrakup’, literally ‘Moon Well’mainland Asia ‘s largest mud volcano. While most pilgrims come by buses or private cars, a few cycle their way to the shrine, as it is believed that more the austerities, the more is the grace of the deity.

The floor is also multi hued. It is covered by red clothes matami vermilion.
Over time, when Lord Parashuram visits this place, he was pleasantly surprised to see Kshatriya clan involved in many Brahminical activities having shed their arms.

The Sanskrit texts mention the part as ‘Brahmadreya’ or vital essence. The pilgrims include middle-class Hindus, especially from nearby Karachi, which is a stop on the pilgrimage route to Hinglaj. The cave temple of Hinglaj Mata is in a narrow gorge in the remote, hilly area of Lyari Tehsil in Pakistan’s Balochistan province. Despite the independence and the increasing Islamic stance of the Pakistani Government and society, Hinglaj has survived and is in fact revered by local Muslims who call it ‘ Nani ki Mandir ‘.
Some scatter rose petals, others paint their bodies and faces with clay. Pilgrims from all over Pakistan and even India visit the temple,  holding traditional red banners and wearing red-gold decorative head-scarves, which are associated with sanctuaries of Hindu goddesses, in this case Hinglaj Mata.
